ARTIST STATEMENT
I have been cultivating my signature style for over a decade with the goal of striking a balance between pop and minimalist sensibilities while testing the limits of great design. I work in bright radiant colors arranged into interlocking flat organic shapes. Although I do not limit my color palette, I choose to work with a limited number of visual elements. My focus remains on color and shape while eschewing texture to maintain the most universally smooth surface possible within the composition. Paradoxically, I find that restricting my options forces me to think and design more creatively. Aesthetically, I am drawn to crisp, clean lines and bold, yet restrained designs. Beauty is simple. There is a kind of honesty that also dwells within simplicity. The best compositions are simple in appearance if not necessarily simple in their creation. My goal is to create beautiful compositions that are truthful interpretations of my observations of my day to day life. I strive to solicit a strong reaction from the viewer by providing work that is so visually stimulating and bold that the image will remain in the mind's eye long after the first viewing and is as addictive as the catchiest of pop songs.
